In line with EU regulations, it should be noted that there is practically total liberalisation in terms of foreign investments and exchange controls.
Many national and foreign companies have chosen Galicia as a location for investment. Leading sectors include: automotion, foodstuffs and agriculture, mining and quarrying, call-centres, aeronautics, leisure, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Most of the foreign investment made in Galicia is from countries of the European Union, the United States, Canada, Japan and Korea.
It is also important to highlight the investment made in Galicia by Galician businesses in other countries, mainly in the real estate sector.
